Jodie Meeks will keep his name in the NBA Draft & forego his senior season at The University of Kentucky.
Despite projections & mock drafts that indicate Jodie will not be selected in the 1st round, I think he'll have a solid career. He's a scorer & athletic as all hell.
- The finals aren't done yet. Everything we've seen the past couple of series and years shows us that Orlando will not quit and the Kobe and Phil combo is softer than Charmin. Not that I expect the Magic to win but they might just make a series out of this yet.
- How good is the Reds pitching staff right now? Any time you can win with Chris Dickerson (no offense) as your lead off hitter you have to be throwing some nasty stuff.
- Summer pickup basketball = Great
- This site has been slower than Dubs taking a math test recently. For whatever reason all of us decided to take a summer hiatus at the same time. Honestly though, we probably reached the peak of traffic for our type of website. Unless businesses evolve to grow they don't stand much chance and this one is no different. We'll just have to wait and see what the minds at YDF have cooked up.
- Jodie Meeks, please come back. We need number eight.
- YDF now owns Evansville, IN as well as surrounding areas. Need proof ask the kid curry. Get at me if you are ever in town and I can show you too.
- Books I've finished now that school has let out (all good reads by the way): How Soccer Explains the World, The Wisdom of Crowds, Robinson Crusoe. Love the fact that I only have to read what I feel like nowadays. Probably start reading some Robert Penn Warren soon because you can never get enough Western KY.
- I guess that's all I've got, sorry there weren't any lame jokes but I would have had to force it in more than Ronni...err nevermind. Hope everybody is having a great summer and stays safe out there.
I wish this video had John Wall highlights but the song should get you hype enough.
The first part of this clip is old, not really sure when it happened but it is funny as hell. The second part took place last night during the post-game show...gotta love it when Chuck has a cough.
What a week it has been for University of Kentucky's Athletic Director Mitch Barnhardt. In the same week reports of the University being Sued by their former coach, and reports that their new coach is under heavy investigation by the NCAA have all surfaced.
On the brink of having the Number 1 recruiting class in the nation the wildcats still can't seem to get rid of the dark cloud hovering around its basketball program, with Billy Clyde still showing his face around town all the while preparing to drop the six million dollar hammer on the University for payment he feels he is still owed.
But the scrutiny doesn't stop there, UK's new Savior has been brought to the forefront of a NCAA investigation of Memphis University's basketball program, where there has been reports of tampering with a SAT score of a former Memphis player who many are saying may be NBA Rookie of the year Derrick Rose.
I guess by now coach Cal. is getting pretty used to having his victories contested, with the 'disappearance' of his UMass final four, and now with the risk of losing his Memphis championship run, all that is left is for the floor to fall in on the CALIPARTY, before the music even starts to play.
Love him or hate him, you can't deny the FACT that Eminem is a lyrical genius. The title to this thread is very debatable, hell I don't even know if I agree with it. I would probably rather listen to a Jay-Z or Lil' Wayne CD, but I doubt either of them can get in there and go at it like Em does during this freestyle session with British DJ Tim Westwood.
To supplement my argument, here is Weezy F. during a session with Westwood. Don't get it confused, I'm a pretty big Wayne fan, but this freestyle is basically a song that has been on one of his mixtapes/CD's. He can't compare to Eminem's freestyle abilities. Enjoy.
Mark your calendars nerds. Will Oldham, aka Bonnie Prince Billy, is coming to Lexington. He/his band will be playing at the Red Mile Clubhouse on June 13th. I saw them play at an art exhibit last year and they were really fun to watch. The microphones went out and they still rocked the joint. If you don't have plans, go break it down with the fellow Kentucky native.
First off, I need to apologize for saying that Mayfield was still allowed to race despite his alleged failed drug test...wrong. NASCAR has dropped his ass like a meth addict drops 15 lbs in a week. He's hired a ballin' attorney to represent him and he'll probably win...so expect to see him racing soon. Also, NASCAR made news this week by issuing the largest fine in sports history to "Hot" Carl Long for running too large of an engine.
Now, to the stuff you probably care about, or not. The race this week is run in Concord, NC just like the All-Star race was last week. This is the longest and one of the most testing races on the circuit and not just for the drivers, but also for the engines. The drivers will start in the daylight and race into the night. Lowe's Motor Speedway is another place where rookies don't really shine, but I expect to see Joey Logano show some brass tomorrow evening and possibly pull of a top 10. The best place to put your money on races like this are the safe, dependable names like Johnson, Gordon, Kennseth, etc but both Kyle Busch and Tony Stewart have shown that a more aggressive driving style can take you to victory lane. I like Busch to win the race because he qualified on the outside of the 1st row (2nd position for those of you not in the know) and has run well in both Sprint Cup practice and Nationwide practice. If he can make his car last all 600 miles then he'll probably be spining tires and tearing up grass come the waving of the checkered flag. Don't expect a lot of excitment in this one until the last 100 laps or so.
