Yep, you heard it first. Your boy Lil Wayne found himself battling the likes of Woody Paige and Jay Mariotti discussing many of the great, wait not so great topics in sports recently (A-Roid, Phelps and his bong, Obama's thoughts) today on Around the Horn. Can't seem to figure out why ESPN and other sports stations have to constantly annoy us with non-sports related issues. If we cared about what was going on with the Balco investigation and athletes in court we be watching C-Span. If we cared about what Obama thinks about the current BCS system we'd be glued to Fox News and CNN. But were sports fans and we'd like to hear about sports.
With that being said, I thought tha Carter brought some good insight to the table on today's episode. My two personal favorites were:
1) The comment about celebrating the non-steroid era, a.k.a before McGwire, Sosa, and all those other roided up ballplayers. Stop worrying about asterisks and what stats should count, but rather embrace those that played the game clean (or so we think).
2) The new big three in Miami instead of Boston (Wade, Amare, and Weezy). This would of course need to be a three team trade as "the Matrix", Shawn Marion is already in Miami and seem to not get along with Mr. Amare in the desert.
Interested if any of you saw the show and what your thoughts were about Lil Wayne (who did find a way to take down the giants of the sports media, ha).
*ATH usually re-airs on ESPN 2 @ 6PM EST. in case you missed it
Wayne made zero sense throughout, and got handed the game. It still kicked ass then.
