The Miami Heat traded Shawn "The Matrix" Marion for Jermaine "My contract is ridiculous" O'neal today in a move that really can't be explained easily. The Heat really had that big of a need for a washed up center whose only abilities are to block shots and punch Pistons fans? The Raptors did themselves a favor splitting ways with the Pacers leavings and bringing in Marion who is in the final year of his deal. They will undoubtedly clear cap space and try to resign Chris Bosh before he realizes that he is living in Canada.
It won't be that interesting to see how JO meshes with Dwayne Wade because O'neal is not and will not be healthy any time soon. Hell he could barely crack the Pacers line up before he was moved to Toronto earlier this year. The only real upside to this is that they can start Micheal Beasley now instead of letting him cringe at Matrix jumpshots from the bench.
I hope it works out for both teams (mainly because D. Wade is on my fantasy team), and next time that O'neal decks somebody in the Palace that the Turk is on the receiving end of it.
