Call it what you will Cats fans, but as of right now...We STINK!

Last night, was the 1st night in over a week that many Kentuckians, including my parents, were able to turn on their TVs and enjoy some solid hardwood hoops due to the ice storms in the area. And if I know Western Kentucky, many would have just assumed sit in the dark than be forced to watch the bullshit Billy Gillispie has been throwing together the past few games. As he squats like a catcher grinning at the refs, making random substitutions, and punishing players for simply trying to play the game, I think to myself.."what the fuck are you doing?" I understand we are young, and mistakes will be made. But damn, even Jordan screwed up every once in a while. Watch Duke tonight, they even make mistakes, then they learn from them and typically end up succeeding. We on the other hand, screw up, get taken out of the game, come back in the game for someone who missed an open shot and are absolutely frightened to do anything besides force it into Pat or hit Jodie on a curl heading straight towards one of the best shot blockers the SEC has ever seen. Like I told my boy Lincoln, if somebody gives me 5 feet to shoot (Union Co. JV starting SG), then by god I'm shooting all day with a grin on my face. Yet, Mr. Basketball himself isn't allowed to shoot a jump shot?!?! Then we have a 6'7" guard sitting on our bench that can get to the rim, defend, and possibly box somebody out, freeing Jodie to get down the floor in transition and keeping their offense off the glass, yet Galloway sits on the bench around 35 minutes a game. But the thing is, for most Kentucky fans, if we somehow beat Florida on Tuesday then Billy G will be a genius again and all is well. I don't buy it. As far as I'm concerned Billy G has lost these past three games by being simply out coached. So for you Cats fans who hated Tubby to the point that he bounced on us and went as far North as he could possibly go, watch him and Tom Izzo battle it out tonight @ 8:30. Watch them both direct their team into situations where they have opportunities to score, watch their defense (their hands are out at all times, like you learned in Junior Pro), they box out, and most of all they adapt to the game. I understand that Jodie and Pat are the keys to winning with us, but if no one else is able to score, or should I say allowed to shoot, then basically we will be playing a couple of home games come March in the NIT. That being said, watch some good ball tonight. Good coaches, good players, and solid matchups. You might need two tvs.
