I woke up for the second half of Mike and Mike in the morning today for a lil' sports talk to start my day. While the show went on, the clock was ticking, cold pizza, first take, whatever ESPN is calling this piece of shit of a show these days was coming on next.
No more than five minutes into the show did it take Skip Bayliss to say something stupid (big suprise). This guy is the Rosie O'Donnel of sports talk shows.
The first "take" on the show was who is the most clutch player of the following three: Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Dwayne Wade. What Skip would say next would made me laugh, then pissed, and then laugh again.
Skip said that 3-4 years ago it would have been Kobe, but feels now that he has lost a step and isn't the dominating player he once was... What? Kobe is averaging 28 points per game, near tops in the NBA, What? His FG% is at a career high this year, What? The Lakers have the best record in the NBA, What?
While he may have a point that KB24 is not averaging 35 points per this year, like in 05-06, how about taking the rosters into consideration Skippy. When the Lakers were battling for a mid to crappy seed in the west a couple years back Kobe's cast of teamates included Smush Parker, Luke Walton, Kwame Brown, and Lamar Odom(sixth man on this years team)
Add into the Line up former PG of the triangle,D-Fish, Pau Gasol, and an experienced Andrew Bynum and I no longer see I guy in need of dropping 35 a game (although he likes to show us every now and then he can whenever he wants) KB has also played the fewest amount of minutes since his second year in the league.
So before you say Kobe has lost a step, trying turning onto TNT and watch Kobe be the best player in the league hands down (suck it Lebron fans) at the least maybe Chuck Barkley can cheer you up, ya sour puss.
