The Sweet Sixteen brings us another stellar match-up against the #2 Memphis Tigers (33-3) and the #3 Missouri Tigers (30-6). Last years runner up, the talented Memphis Tigers, are looking to return to the finals. In order to do so they have to get through Mike Anderson's Missouri squad that is coming off of a close W against Marquette. Missouri plays 11 deep and relies heavily on their pressure style defense. As for Memphis, they are long, deep, experienced, and led by a guard, Tyreke Evans, who can do just about anything on the court.
Look for this game to be a run and gun showdown.
SIDE-NOTES:
- 7 Players for the Memphis Tigers have been to the Sweet Sixteen at least twice. Experience is a huge factor. Lets just hope they can be clutch this year behind the charity stripe.
-Calipari has decent track record in the last for years with 2 Elite Eights and last years runner-up in the Championship game against the Jay Hawks.
-The last time the Memphis Tigers lost to a Conference USA team was 62 games ago against UAB, coached by Mike Anderson. Anderson led UAB to the Sweet Sixteen in 2004.
Think about it...
Missouri +5 (-110) Memphis -5 (-110)
I am taking Missouri in this one. I want Memphis to go down. They had their chance last year and choked...
